Townhouse Director

With a background in customer service, Michelle joined the team in 2015 and helped Paul and Emma launch Padstow Townhouse, before becoming our Guest Relations Manager for three years. In 2019 Michelle returned to the Townhouse as our Townhouse Manager, where her warm and friendly manner helps to make every guest feel like part of our family.

John Walton

Chef Patron, Mahé

Paul has known John for over 15 years, since they first met working together under Marcus Wareing at Pétrus in 2003. Born and raised in Padstow, John began his career working for Rick Stein at The Seafood Restaurant, returning to his hometown to join Paul at No6 in 2006. In over a decade as Paul’s right-hand man, John has become a mentor to the whole Ainsworth family.

Chris McClurg

Chef de Cuisine, Paul Ainsworth at No.6 Restaurant

Chris has worked alongside Paul and John at No6 for nearly a decade. Drawn to the kitchen from a young age, he spent three years under the tutelage of Jack O’Shea at Jack’s iconic London butchery, honing skills that set him apart from the pack the moment he stepped into the No6 kitchen. Rising through the ranks to become senior sous chef in 2014, Chris was named Observer Food Monthly’s Young Chef of the Year for 2018, before becoming No6’s chef de cuisine at the beginning of 2019.

Alex Tozer

Operations Director

Alex joined the Ainsworth family in 2010, and quickly became the restaurant manager at Paul Ainsworth at No. 6. His exceptional wine knowledge and incredible passion for the hospitality industry made him a customer-favourite and shaped the friendly, intimate atmosphere which helped No. 6 to achieve its first Michelin star in 2012.

Moving to Caffè Rojano in 2018, Alex brings his years of customer service experience to our busy, family-friendly restaurant, where he is an exceptional mentor to our close-knit front of house team.

Alex Tozer

Paul Dodd

Operations Director, The Mariners Public House

Paul Ainsworth has known Paul Dodd for over a decade, since they worked together under Marcus Wareing at Pétrus in 2002. After working in London under Gordon Ramsay and Marcus, Paul left to travel, and in 2010 Paul moved to Padstow and took the role of General Manager at Caffè Rojano. 2018 saw Paul become Restaurant Director at Paul Ainsworth at No6, followed by a move in 2019 to become Operations Director at The Mariners Public House. Paul is dedicated to looking after all of our guests’ needs, and works hard to ensure that every customer has the very best experience during every visit.

Jack Clements

Chef Director, Caffè Rojano

Jack began his culinary career a decade ago working as a kitchen porter at Hix Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis. After moving to the Alps to hone his skills as a pizza chef, Jack joined the Ainsworth family in 2013, and in 2017 was promoted to Head Chef at Caffè Rojano.

Jack has proved himself to be a natural in the kitchen – his hunger, flair and ambition have been instrumental in Caffè Rojano earning its second AA rosette in 2018 – and in 2019 he was a winner at The Caterer Magazine’s prestigious Acorn awards.
