Rojano’s in the Square has an exciting and colourful history that has made it the Padstow institution that we all know and love.

From the family that brought you Paul Ainsworth at No.6, Rojano’s in the Square offers rustic Italian and Mediterranean influenced dishes. Led by Chef Director Jack Clements, Rojano’s is a flexible, fun and relaxed restaurant.

We are open seven days a week, serving coffee and homemade cakes from 10am, and our full menu from 12pm.

Beginning life in 1905, our eighteenth century building was first home to Tonkin Bootmakers, local craftsmen who created hand-sewn boots for Padstow’s fishermen.

Rojano’s was born in 1974, thanks to local businessman Stanley Rojano. A larger than life character, Stan put his own traditional dishes on the menu, sharing his family favourites with locals – who just couldn’t get enough of his hearty Italian and Spanish cooking. Although the restaurant may be a little quieter without him these days, we’re proud to continue Stan’s legacy in our traditional food and family-run environment.

A warm welcome awaits you and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Meet the Team

Jack Clements

Chef Director

Jack began his culinary career a decade ago working as a kitchen porter at Hix Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis. After moving to the Alps to hone his skills as a pizza chef, Jack joined the Ainsworth family in 2013, and in 2017 was promoted to Head Chef at Rojano’s in the Square.

Jack has proved himself to be a natural in the kitchen – his hunger, flair and ambition have been instrumental in Rojano’s earning its second AA rosette in 2018 – and in 2019 he was a winner at The Caterer Magazine’s prestigious Acorn awards.

Leading his dedicated and driven brigade, Jack is an incredible mentor – developing and supporting every member of the Rojano’s team to achieve the excellence that he so passionately strives for.

Alex Tozer

Restaurant Director

Alex joined the Ainsworth family in 2010, and quickly became the restaurant manager at Paul Ainsworth at No. 6. His exceptional wine knowledge and incredible passion for the hospitality industry made him a customer-favourite and shaped the friendly, intimate atmosphere which helped No. 6 to achieve its first Michelin star in 2012.

Moving to Rojano’s in the Square in 2018, Alex brings his years of customer service experience to our busy, family-friendly restaurant, where he is an exceptional mentor to our close-knit front of house team.
